Twisted Dance Collective welcomes you!
Twisted Dance Collective is a group of dedicated teachers and advanced students who have a passion for dancing, teaching and performing. In January 2014, the Collective partnered with Break 'N' Out Dance Studio in Greensboro to continue offering Belly Dance, BellyFit and Martial Art instruction. Our teachers provide high quality instruction that focuses on technique and expression (while having a FABULOUS time). Check out our classes link to look at our Google calendar which contains all of our latest class schedules and class descriptions.
We have spent the last few years working very hard to build a supportive, accepting and open dance community where dancers of all ages, genders, and sizes can express themselves without worry or judgment. We invite YOU to join us.
7th Annual Project Shimmy November 7, 2015
Twisted Dance Collective is happy to announce that we are now accepting performer applications for this year's Project Shimmy! The show will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at The Starr Theatre in downtown Greensboro and all proceeds go to Triad Health Project.
If you'd like to perform, please follow this link to the application form. As this is a "world dance show," we're not just looking for bellydance performers, but also other world dance styles or those involved in circus arts (that don't involve fire and truss). Performers should be professional, semi-professional, or seasoned/experienced student performers and troupes. If you have any questions about the application, feel free to email us at email@example.com!
We're looking for a good mix of traditional and experimental performances that will engage the audience and showcase your talents!
Each year Project Shimmy helps to raise vital funding and awareness for Triad Health Project, the area’s HIV / AIDS service organization, in addition to providing the public with an opportunity to experience a variety of world dance styles.
Torque Bellydance (now retired) began Project Shimmy in 2008 as a way to help Triad Health Project meet the needs of individuals living with HIV / AIDS and their loved ones.
The program features dancers from across North Carolina who perform a variety of Middle Eastern and world dance styles. We hope to see you there!
